Velo3D Expands Open Platform with Dyndrite Integration, Unlocking Advanced Toolpath R&D and Scalable Repeatable Production
Integration of Dyndrite LPBF Pro provides Velo3D’s users advanced toolpath control, fast research and development, and new opportunities for process innovation

At Dyndrite, our mission is to empower additive manufacturing users with the tools they need to unlock quality, traceability, and repeatability in metal AM. That’s why we’re proud to announce a new integration with Velo3D’s Sapphire and Sapphire XC platforms, enabling their users to harness Dyndrite LPBF Pro directly on one of the industry’s most advanced metal AM systems.
Why This Matters
Metal AM is rapidly moving from prototype into serial production. To succeed, additive engineers need more than capable hardware, they need capable software. Software that empowers them to freely manufacture the parts their applications require. Software that allows them to control exactly how their part is made and qualified down to the hatch vector, so they can scale with confidence and codify their own IP.
Velo3D has already earned recognition for printing some of the hardest geometries, and with fewer supports. By integrating Dyndrite LPBF Pro, that capability expands dramatically. Engineers now gain vector-level laser control to fine-tune surface finish, boost build speeds, and reliably produce challenging geometries such as thin walls, cantilevers, and domes. Equally important, Dyndrite amplifies Velo3D’s recoater technology use cases to enable faster research and development
The result: fewer failed builds, faster process development, and a software-defined pathway to repeatable, industrial-scale AM with Velo Rapid Production Solutions (RPS).
Voices from the Ecosystem
The impact of this collaboration is already being felt:
- “With Dyndrite LPBF Pro enabled on Velo3D’s machines, we are able to increase our development velocity,” said Thomas Pomorski, Director of Additive Manufacturing at Ursa Major. “This partnership represents a strong step forward to an additive manufacturing ecosystem designed for scalability.”
- “By bringing Dyndrite onto our platform, we’ve created a true 1+1=3 moment: our technology plus their software gives customers capabilities they’ve never had before with any other combination of technologies,” added Darren Beckett, Chief Technology Officer at Velo3D.
From our side at Dyndrite, this integration reaffirms our belief in an open, programmable future for AM workflows. As Harshil Goel, Founder and CEO of Dyndrite, put it: “Velo3D has long recognized the powerful role software plays in advanced AM workflows, and with their support we’re excited to extend our capabilities to their customers. By adding Dyndrite LPBF Pro, Velo3D users gain new advanced control they need to push process development further, accelerating innovation and paving the way for production.”
Advancing an Open, Flexible AM Ecosystem
The Dyndrite + Velo3D integration demonstrates how open platforms and advanced software can accelerate innovation while advancing repeatability at scale. By combining hardware precision with software-defined control and automation, engineers are now able to:
- Explore advanced toolpath strategies for more geometries, materials and economics
- Validate new process windows faster, with fewer physical builds
- Codify and reproduce results across machines, sites, and projects
See It in Action - ICAM 25
We’ll be showcasing this collaboration at ASTM ICAM 25 in Las Vegas. Velo 3D customers are invited to join our hands-on Dyndrite Workshop on Sunday, Oct. 5, the day before the conference kickoff, as well as attend the Dyndrite + Velo3D User Group meeting in the Dyndrite Booth #301 on October 7th at 4pm PT. Dyndrite is a Diamond sponsor of ICAM 25.
Dyndrite LPBF Pro will be the topic and / or featured in a keynote and numerous sessions at ICAM, please visit Dyndrite @ ICAM for a list.
