Dyndrite and EOS Team to Increase Productivity in Metal-Based Additive Manufacturing

Dyndrite’s Additive Manufacturing Toolkit (AMT) Delivers GPU-Accelerated Preparation Capabilities to EOS Customers

Tuesday, November 19, 2019

November 19, 2019 – Formnext Hall 12.1 Booth G131, Frankfurt. Dyndrite™ Corporation ('den-drite') – developer of the general processing unit (GPU)-powered Additive Manufacturing Toolkit (AMT) – today announced a working relationship with EOS, the global technology and quality leader for Additive Manufacturing (AM) solutions, in support of the company’s line of Direct Metal Laser Solidification (DMLS) machine line. Dyndrite is designed for serial production workflows.

Dyndrite AMT brings new levels of performance, portability and repeatability to the CAD-to-Print workflow. Users experience accelerated slicing, latticing, light weighting of parts and the ability to handle and process extremely large files.

Additive technicians can leverage the company’s Python application programming interface (API) to drive AMT either via the Graphical User Interface (GUI) or headlessly (from a command line), creating intricate workflows that speed production and automate processes.

“DMLS printing is evolving into an era of production – an era where users are vying to print tens of thousands of parts every month. With users who seek new ways to speed their build processing, creating repeatable, and autonomous workflows," said Greg Hayes, senior vice president applied technology at EOS North America. "At EOS, our customers continually demand increased speed, improved quality, and better economics. Dyndrite has demonstrated performance improvements that our customers appreciate. We are excited to support Dyndrite in making their powerful build processor available to EOS customers.”

About AMT and ACE:

The Dyndrite AMT, built on the company’s ‘Accelerated Computational Engine’ (ACE) geometry kernel, takes maximum advantage of both modern central processing units (CPUs) and NVIDIA® GPU compute architectures, delivering unparalleled performance for geometric and additive manufacturing specific computations.

Dyndrite’s ACE powers the AMT and is the world’s first geometry kernel designed to fully leverage and scale with the NVIDIA® Quadro® line of GPUs, the preeminent visual computing platform.

In comparison to other offerings, the CPU-only strategy employed by legacy build processors is limiting for a number of the modern algorithms used in 3D printing. Dyndrite accelerates complex cases, previously requiring hours on the most powerful CPUs, to just a few minutes or even seconds through the use of modern GPU computer architecture and programming practices.
